Have you ever wondered… about sacca-kiriya (or saccha kiriya)? I have. It is an act of truth within the Hindu and Buddhist worlds. In fact, this concept exists across established and folk religions alike. I think of it as the equivalent of biblical miracles. After all, a parting of water shows up as an example within each, hence the similarity of them in my mind. The astonishing and miraculous power of truth is fully on display in these cases. I am well aware of how hard it is to believe; truthfully, I, too, am cautiously speculative currently.

Truth can never be told so as to be understood, and not be believed.

-William Blake

What do we truly know in the end? What does all of our knowledge add up to within the confines or constraints of the cosmos? What fractional drop of information or knowledge have we tried to define within the entire bucket? I am thrilled by the idea of being truthful and honoring one’s word so strongly that it grants you control of your surroundings. How swell would that be? How can we tap into such might? I do not think many of us will be able to due to lack of honest persistence in the true pursuit; I think the goal or prize will override the truth. The journey is the truth, not the destination. Are you working for a future goal or result, or are you working because it is the best thing for you now?

Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.

-Henry David Thoreau

One example of sacca-kiriya that I read about recently referenced a bird who wanted to stop a wildfire from engulfing its forest home. Truth exists beyond spoken language; it exists in your actions and behaviors. Do you act and behave truthfully? Yes, those parts encompass what we say, but they comprise much more than simply that aspect alone.

Whatever human endeavor we choose, as long as we live our truth,
it is success.

-Kamal Ravikant

You have to be truthful with yourself in order to start living your true life. Only then can you begin to act truthfully, too; only then can we see how far our limits can be pushed. What is possible? Where does our potential max out? We truthfully do not know. I find that fact to be exciting and liberating. Do not put permanent limits on yourself; do not sell yourself short by discounting your whole truth. Be a better and truer you each day.

Truth is ever to be found in simplicity, and not in the multiplicity and confusion of things.

-Isaac Newton

There is no need to complicate matters unnecessarily. How often do we make situations worse by feeding the wrong fire? Live your life here and now; embrace your current and present truth. Go forth holding your truth tight within; save it for when you truly need it.

Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
