You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life,
but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.
-Eckhart Tolle
Truth paves the way to peace. If you are not truthful with yourself, then how can you be at peace? You may think you can still be happy, but delusions deceive you. Your inside is in conflict if you deny your true nature. Why do some situations repeat themselves until you learn the lesson? Living more truthfully can unlock inner peace. If you evaluate your morals and listen to them better, then you can begin to reassimilate and reclaim yourself.
Ultimately, we have just one moral duty: to reclaim large areas of peace in ourselves.
-Etty Hillesum
You hold the keys to your happiness; you can grant yourself peace if you so choose. How often do you slow down and reflect? When do you practice mindfulness or meditation? When is the last time that you felt truly at peace? Do you calmly center yourself a lot, or are you frantically running between this thing and that? Are you always at bat for the next task? When did you last simply sit, rest, and breathe? Stop and smell the roses.
To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring – it was peace.
-Milan Kundera
Relax and go with the flow,
instead of trying to be a show.
If you knew, then you know.
Being still does not mean don’t move. It means move in peace.
-E’yen A. Gardner
It is good to slow down and do nothing sometimes. It is great to find your inner peace, when you can silence the chatter and stay still for a while, joyfully present here and now.
Truth paves the way to peace. Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
