They look the same with how they end,
Yet their last syllables each do bend.
What on the surface may seem couth
May be backed by many a sharp tooth.
Trust your gut, and listen to your instinct.
What smells true, and what truly stinks?
One relies on darkness; the other walks in light.
Both can still exist, whether it is day or night.
Do you speak for all, freely and fair?
Or is it only you about whom you care?
Can you live a life judicious and veracious?
Or do you persist venomous and insidious?
I sugjest pursuing an honest path.
Charting best results is easy math.
I think about my life on a scale.
Will it pass, or will it fail?
I do not know. Time will tell.
I will do my best until that bell.
Do I want to look back on lots of lies?
No, to see a good life is quite the prize.
I will not choose a negative way.
My past vices now hold little sway.
I seek to spread lots of good and cheer.
In as many places as possible, far and near.
If our paths cross one day, I pray you will say,
“There goes a person who knows what to convey,
A true meaning of life, spreading lots of love.”
Please let me be a peaceful sign, like a dove.
Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
