Freeday – 041125

To express oneself honestly, not lying to oneself…
now that, my friend, is very hard to do.

-Bruce Lee

Honestly, I am exhausted, so I am excited to exercise my freedom this Freeday to write whatever I want. Who knew past me was padding these cycles so wisely? How honest have you been with yourself today? This week? This year? Can you honestly say you are happy with your recent choices? Please take careful note that I am not asking if you like the results of events happening around you. We do not control those. Are you happy with your choices in relation to those events, though? We do control those. Have you sat down with yourself and assessed your life honestly? One-quarter of 2025 has already passed. Do you want to keep doing what you have been doing for nine more months or change?

Being honest may not get you a lot of friends but it’ll always get you the right ones.

-John Lennon

My boss at work recently asked me to complete a self-feedback exercise. My initial gut response was to shrink away and recoil at the thought. You want me to do what? At the end of it, though, I can honestly say that I found myself proud of and refreshed by my reflective effort. I can see what went well and what can be improved upon in the future. By being honest with myself, this process helped show me what to keep doing, what to stop doing, and what to change or adjust in some capacity. I sugjest trying it out soon.

When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.

-Paulo Coelho

Do you honestly think we will ever figure out life completely? I doubt it. Life might become boring if that were to happen. Each day is a new adventure. Will you rise and face the challenges fully and honestly, or will you proceed apathetically, stuck in the same ole somnambulism of old? To be even more open and honest, I was derailed deep in the depths of despair last week. It was a tough trek for me. I am proud to report that I am piecing myself back together and returning to a healthy, thriving state. I am not sure if I am better than before yet. The bridge in my lane was rattled and tested severely last week, so I spent a lot of time inspecting my supports and seeing what all needed to be strengthened or restrengthened. Honestly, I think that may be another key. How many times may we need to be reminded of an older lesson, a pivotal point to relearn again?

Almost any difficulty will move in the face of honesty. When I am honest, I never feel stupid. And when I am honest, I am automatically humble.

-Hugh Prather

The quantity does not matter. The quality holds the importance. Knowing something versus fully integrating it into your being are honestly two very different concepts and practices. We should become aware of a faulty support in order to identify what to work on, and then we need to spend as much time as needed to truly and honestly work on it. We should make sure that what truly matters is ingrained deeply within our essence for all eternity. How else can we ever expect enlightenment to exist eternally with everyone?

Honesty is a very expensive gift. Don’t expect it from cheap people.

-Warren Buffett

What is the quality of your character? Is it rich, or is it cheap?

Enough from me for now. Peace and love, y’all <3

Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
