munificent vs. maleficent

munificent (adjective) – extremely liberal in giving; very generous; characterized by great generosity

maleficent (adjective) – doing evil or harm; harmfully malicious

Are any of us immune to generosity?

Perhaps only victims of precocity.

I think those who are generous

should abound around as plenteous.

We can all give back and do more.

Behold what humanity has in store.

Give to others, and also give to yourself.

Please leave some for you on any shelf.

Repeating a bit, we have no need to hoard.

Volunteer and help others if you are bored.

You can give others energy, money, and time.

Your actions should uplift, regardless of rhyme.

Your intent or reason is what matters in the end.

Why do you do good for this or that friend?

Are you simply being generous to be kind,

or does a hidden agenda lie behind?

Do you give to others freely and clearly?

Can you bless strangers and treat them dearly?

Will you move through life being munificent,

or are you hell-bent on being maleficent?

Common sense should make the ideal obvious.

Please use your senses; do not be oblivious.

The scales collect. The ledgers are noted.

Which side of your account will be bloated?

Will you do what is right because it is right,

or will you resist tooth and nail, putting up a fight?

Maintain your focus, and stick to your lane.

Control your choices; generously share your brain.

Leave this place much better than you found it.

Generosity will help us get through and around it.

Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
