self-compassion vs. self-contempt

self-compassion (noun)- the practice of being kind and understanding with oneself, rather than being harshly self-critical when faced with failure, mistakes, or feelings of inadequacy

self-contempt (noun)- contempt or loathing for oneself or one’s actions; a strong feeling of disliking and having no respect for oneself

If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete.

-Jack Kornfield

I think these two terms are mutually exclusive.

They exist opposite one another on a scale.

On which side of it do you currently live?

Can you reflect and shift your scale?

Self-compassion- stop computing comparisons.

Self-contempt- start contemplating contentedness.

Self-compassion- no more competing combatively.

Self-contempt- more conscientious concentration.

Self-compassion feels so much better.

Self-contempt only makes you suffer.

Self-forgiveness can help a lot here.

Build yourself up, back to a cheer.

Not every moment will be perfect.

Relax and give yourself grace.

Do your best, finding your purpose.

Relax and give yourself grace.

Compassionately devise. Avoid staying numb. Let love compel.

Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
