It takes a deep and profound level of strength to stare directly at an issue or a problem and face it without batting an eye. What comes to mind for you when you think about fortitude? Is it a strong person capable of lifting heavy weights? That was frequently a prior misconception of this word for me. My education continues alongside these posts.

It is not the strength of the body that counts, but the strength of the spirit.

-J.R.R. Tolkien

Fortitude has nothing to do with physical strength. Fortitude relates to your inner strengths. How strong are you emotionally and mentally? I would also advocate for spiritual strength as well here. When your hand in life is dealt with danger, difficulty, or temptation, are you quick to simply cave in, quit, or run away? Or, do you have skills and mindsets to rely on that you have slowly and progressively trained over time? It is naive for us to only wish for nothing but good times in our lives. We will face challenges. I often face multiple challenges daily. Will we quickly crumble and fall apart in those moments, or can we keep calm and carry on courageously because we have fine-tuned fortitude?

Fortitude is a main discussion point in many religions. Are they all wrong, or is it one of the common threads that we all should be able to agree upon? I believe that we should all work on being strong in mind, body, and soul. What will you work on strengthening?

Your success will be determined by your own confidence and fortitude.

Change out your next breakdown for a breakaway instead. You can choose to let something affect you adversely, or you can flip the script, restoring your harmony.

Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
