Stillness coincides with conviction. When you firmly and freely set your mind to your best purpose and pursue it peacefully, you operate flowingly from a place of stillness. We can reach a state where thoughts and memories drift away and disappear. Sure, that may sound scary if you cling to your attachments. The vast freedom that becomes available in such a state is worth the trust. Everything is available as needed within perfect stillness.
The stillness in stillness is not the real stillness; only when there is stillness in movement does the universal rhythm manifest.
-Bruce Lee
I floated last night. It is one of my newer self-care routines to explore and enjoy, soaking in a saltwater pod for an hour. The receptionist asked me what music I wanted in the room. She was surprised when I said none because I guess few people opt for silence. I had planned on singing to myself plenty while floating, but I soon chose stillness instead.
Stillness is also inner peace, and that stillness and peace are the essence of your Being.
-Eckhart Tolle
I floated peacefully in the dark, feeling a range of emotions and thoughts as I let it all ebb and flow. Eventually, I lost all sense of space and time, and it was a restful and relaxing experience that left me feeling really refreshed and recharged. I am well aware that not everyone can afford to pay for this option that basically forces some stillness, but we all still have the option to simply sit in stillness for free. Will you choose to practice it soon?
True intelligence operates silently. Stillness is where creativity and solutions to problems are found.
-Eckhart Tolle
I needed that nugget of information today; I am willing to pay for moments that force my stillness. I find vast value in those experiences, so why do I not set aside some of my free time for it as well then? This answer and/or next step seems so obvious to me now in hindsight, but I suppose that is part of what this cycle was slowly culminating towards.
Within you there is a stillness and sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.
-Herman Hesse
I am grateful for discovering a clear indication of an improvement that I should make in my routine. While I still plan on floating more in the future, I also want to experience more free time in stillness. I look forward to this fresh goal a lot. Settling in frequently. Doing less and simply being more. At peace. Full of joy and love. Existing harmoniously.
Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
