I mourn for all those who believe in original sin. I think babies may be the purest creation in all of existence. To automatically imbue them with some level of impurity feels wholly inappropriate. Maybe those unholy decision makers felt jealous of perfectly clean newborns, so perhaps it is those people who I should mourn for most of all today.
I give you this to take with you: Nothing remains as it was. If you know this, you can begin again, with pure joy in the uprooting.
-Judith Minty
Imagine reconnecting with pure joy. Uproot your unworthiness. Let go of the past and move forward again in the present. Repeat this step as many times as needed to purify the present from the past. In general, we all carry too much with us already. Unpack. Lighten your load. Scrub away at your core and restore your pure, unfiltered shine. Share it with the world, making it all brighter and full of more love, kindness, and compassion.
No motive is pure. No one is good or bad – but a hearty mix of both. And sometimes life actually gives to you by taking away.
-Carrie Fisher
I will pause briefly here to transparently own that I do believe in past lives for most, if not all, of us. I do not consider this concept to be the same as original sin, though. Each life or incarnation that we inhabit is pure at its start. Some of the karma we inherit may carry over from ancestors or leak in from past lives, but purity is still possible. If you can correct your current path and begin cleaning up previous pains and past life problems as well, then you are purifying plentifully and powerfully. You begin to see a much bigger picture.
Purity of heart is what enables us to see.
-Pope Benedict XVI
Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.
-Matthew 5:8 (Bible)
What feels right to you? Do you see for yourself, or do you inherit archaic beliefs from generations and millennia ago? How pure are those prehistoric principles in the present after being perpetuated and putrified for centuries upon centuries? Personal purity exists within, not without. We piece together peace. Flip the script. Pursue original purity. We all had it at some point in time, and we can all return to it at some point in time if we choose to do so. It is not easy, but it is worth it. There is room for all of us to swim in it.

-Pablo Neruda
…
It is Time perhaps, or the vessel filled
with all motion, pure Oneness,
that death cannot touch, the visceral green
of consuming totality.
Define your own story. Walk your own path. Identify and purify your individual sins. Do not let another human tell you the score of your life. Harmonize your score with nature.
Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
