I am so sick right now as I write this post, so I feel the furthest away from feeling qualified to talk about purity while countless impurities run amok within my body. Regardless, maybe that incongruence is one of the lessons already awaiting me here. Can I still paint the picture of purification while pursuing it myself? Oh, here is a neat thought: maybe I am at my worst now in order to be at my best by next Freeday :)
I wish that every human life might be pure transparent freedom.
-Simone de Beauvoir
Pure transparency. That condition is the brightest and best soul state that we should all strive for. I believe we slowly tarnish and cover up our purity with layers upon layers of all the sludge and filth that we often choose to indulge in. From unhealthy foods to unclean thoughts and sickening speech or even atrocious actions, how often are we perpetually and personally pouring impurities into our person on all planes? Even if you only consider your physical vessel, how well are you tending to it? Do you feel pure, transparent, and free? I know I do not right now, but I also see glimmers of progress that fuel my hope and faith to continue improving each day. I will keep on purifying myself.
We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.
-Buddha
The Toltec’s Four Agreements were described as “pure common sense.” I agree, hence why I tailored the guardrails for our lanes after them. If we can find and bring our purest self to more moments each day, then we move closer to being our most authentic and individuated self. I believe this approach prompts how we gradually and patiently perfect our positive purpose in order to provide productive and pure progressions for all people.
Pure love, careless of all other things, kindles the soul.
-Seneca
What does Eckhart Tolle advocate for a lot? Acting in a spirit of pure love before all else. Not conditional or transactional love. A pure love that knows and accepts that anyone and everyone will mess up and cause problems from time to time. Both mistakes and accidents will happen. Can you openly forgive and love continually? These combined practices help purify your past and clean your soul, slowly restoring its pure beauty.
I don’t agree with the whole ‘I’m giving people the same energy they give me.’ I think you should give people your pure truest energy, the realest version of you and if they don’t appreciate you then you can walk away. Why would you lower yourself just because they are low?

I hope you will begin to purify yourself more and more with each passing day. Like a common expression in Costa Rica, I hope you embrace and embody a “pura vida1.”
May the long time sun shine upon you.
All love surround you,
and the pure light within you…
guide your way on.
Sat nam.
Maybe it is wise. Maybe it is dumb. Time will tell.
